The 6th Infocom Security will once again be the leading event for Information Security in Greece, once again making a difference, enriching its program with one more day and significantly upgrading its content.

It is true that the digital world is becoming increasingly complex, with the result that the risks threatening information security are expanding and tending to become more complex.

In cyberspace nothing remains static. Cybercriminals are constantly evolving, collaborating professionally with each other, exchanging knowledge and information, and constantly developing new advanced attack tools to infiltrate organisations' networks in the hope of financial and other benefits.

The IT environment is undergoing a total redefinition. The IT infrastructure is certainly the most important factor in the smooth running of an organisation today. The changes that have taken place in the philosophy and structure of these infrastructures in recent years have on the one hand enhanced the functionality and productivity of business processes, but at the same time they are constantly creating new requirements for the protection of critical information.

Therefore, based on the new data, that is, the constantly evolving landscape of threats and the total reconfiguration of information infrastructures, what emerges today as an urgent need is the continuous upgrading of the knowledge of all those working in the critical area of IT management and not only, in order to contribute together to the protection of information and, by extension, to the protection of the business operation itself.

This need aims to highlight the 6th Infocom Security that will take place in Athens on 6 & 7 April 2016 at the Divani Caravel Hotel with the main message : Upgrade your Knowledge - Protect Your Business.

One conference ..two thematic approaches!
The 6th Infocom Security conference aims to translate into practice the need for extroversion and strengthening of knowledge in the field of IT Security, enriching its content even more and launching this year a dual thematic approach on both days of the conference.

- The first thematic approach will, as always, have a Business technology orientation where company executives and experts in the field will develop all the trends, strategies, methods and solutions for information security in organizations and businesses today, taking into account the evolution of threats and new trends affecting IT infrastructures.

- The second thematic approach that will take place in collaboration with the team of the specialized hacking and security website SecNews.gr will focus on Ethical Hacking & Cyber Security, presenting for the first time in Greece exclusive speeches by researchers and professionals in the field, white hat hackers - and not only - with presence in the largest hacking conferences in the world, real-time simulations of electronic attacks, hacking games, new attack methodologies, new vulnerabilities and specialized hacking tools.

Both thematic directions of the conference will include presentations that directly concern all those who are professionally involved or interested in the field of digital security, whether they belong - as executives or staff - to in-house IT departments in companies and organizations, or are active as professionals in the IT channel, or have academic or research status, related to IT and especially security.

Ethihak Contest - A live Hacking contest
As part of the 6th Infocom Security, an innovative live competition - with a prize to be announced soon - will take place where participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills through simulated electronic attacks to assess the security of information and communication systems. The ultimate aim is to inform internet users about current security threats/attacks and to practice the application of the tools to attack a real target. The Ethihak competition will take place in a live environment set up by expert security researchers at the conference venue.

Benchmark with an upward trend
Infocom Security - organized by Smart Press, with IT Security Professional and Infocom magazines as its pillars - attracted more than 1500 delegates at the 2015 event and was supported by 45 sponsoring companies, covering through the main presentations and parallel workshops, most of the thematic areas of the field.

The Infocom Security conference is today the leading annual event for Information Security in Greece and is a benchmark for developments in the field, recording since 2011 and every year an upward trend that is reflected both by the numbers and attendance statistics, as well as by the universal recognition of the specific market, but also by the scientific and technological community of IT professionals.
