Children love technology and from a very young age they learn to navigate the internet, play online games and use tablets and smartphones. Recent surveys have shown that 81% of children aged 5-15 years have access to online technologies at home, 40% of children aged 3-4 years and 2/3 of children aged 5-7 years surf the internet.
Children are excited about technology. The challenge is to calm this enthusiasm and strike a balance so that the internet does not interfere with other important areas of a child's life.
The internet is now a very important part of our lives and information about it is very important. During the talk the following will be discussed:
- The ways in which parents can protect themselves and effectively protect their children from the risks posed by the inappropriate use of interactive technologies.
- Social networks
- Safe navigation
- Social engineering as a way of deception
