The protection of privacy on the internet, modern dangers and new opportunities for citizens and society are the focus of the Workshop - Public Debate entitled "Hacking Democracy: Privacy and data in the age of Facebook" taking place on November 26 at 10:00 a.m. at ERT-Studio E.

Specialists, experts and executives, on the occasion of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, will analyse the process of "leakage" of personal data, the importance of the "new gold" as personal digital information has been called and will focus on the social, economic, personal and ethical implications of abusive practices.

In two rounds of discussion, key issues will be explored and evidence-based responses will be provided along four axes:

- Recording and protection of personal data.
- Modern risks for internet users.
- New digital weapons against abusive practices
- Data - risks, challenges & social media.

Participation is secured (first step) only through an online form that you can fill in here:

The Workshop - public debate on Democracy and Idiosyncrasy is co-organized by the European Communication Institute with the Office of the European Parliament in Greece, Hellenic Radio and Television and the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, as part of the ad hoc ongoing educational partnership of the above mentioned institutions.
